Duplex
Duplex (1.4462 / UNS S31803) has a two-phase microstructure of ferrite and austenite. This makes the material extremely strong and highly resistant to stress corrosion cracking and pitting. Super Duplex (1.4410) offers even higher performance for extremely aggressive environments.

What is the difference between Duplex and Super Duplex?
Super Duplex has a higher chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen content, resulting in even higher corrosion resistance (PREN > 40) and strength than standard Duplex.
Is Duplex magnetic?
Yes, unlike austenitic stainless steel (like 304/316), Duplex is magnetic due to the ferritic portion in the structure.
